Sign-ups for the Lent 2019 Songs in the Desert Project are now open. Sign up here . Songs in the Desert is a collaborative audio project about Christian hymns and our responses to them. What is your favorite hymn and why? What's a hymn that speaks to you? This project will be published as a podcast and on the web every weekday during Lent 2019. Hymns need not be Lent-specific (and Alleluias are okay!). A different contributor is sought for every day of the project. This sign-up sheet is for the day by which you commit to providing your finished reflection. This day is exactly one month before the day your reflection will air. (For example: Feb. 7 will air on Mar. 7; Mar. 1 will air on Mar. 29) Submissions may be text or audio (you can record yourself with whatever you have, even the voice memo app on your smartphone). Submissions should be no more than 600 words, or five minutes long (remember these will be sent out almost daily.) Please note that there's no need to

Songs in the Desert is coming! Download this episode (mp3). Songs in the Desert is a collaborative conversation on hymns. Which hymns speak to us and why? One of the ways I thought we could respond to the Church's invitation to a "holy Lent" would be to dive a bit deeper into the hymns of our faith. This year's conversation begins on Ash Wednesday and will continue every weekday in Lent.
